I am writing to you under the freedom of information act to request the following information:
Please outline details of an extra funding to your force from private contributions for the financial years: 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18.
‘Extra funding’ is any funding that is not part of central government funding or via the policing precept.
Where extra funding has been received please state in each case:
a) The name of the originating entity i.e. parish, company, etc
b) The value of funds received.
c) The service rendered by your force in exchange for the extra funding i.e the number of personal, their rank, equipment etc (please give as much detail as possible within the limit of the FOIA).
Thank you for responding with clarification in regards to the spelling in the second line of your email and for sending us the below information, further clarifying your request:
Thanks for your email. I require details of any funding that is not from central government or the precept. This additional funding does not have to classed as private funding by Cleveland police.
Your request has been handled in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (“the Act“).
I can now inform you that I have completed my enquiries and that my reply on behalf of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland is as follows.
In regards to parts A and B of your request, I have attached three PDF documents which outline all sources of income to Cleveland Police, including income from the precept and from national government funding for the years requested:
Cleveland Income 2015-2016 (PDF, 214KB)
Cleveland Income 2016-2017 (PDF, 211KB)
Cleveland Income 2017-2018 (PDF, 219KB)
I hope these documents will assist you in developing a full understanding of the income the force receives, in addition to its funding from central government and the precept.
In regards to part C of your request, I can confirm that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner does not hold this information, as it relates to operational policing matters.
Section 16 of the FOI Act requires me to assist you in trying to find the information you seek, which in this case is held by Cleveland Police.
I must advise you that extracting the specific information you seek about numerous policing operations is likely to surpass the time limit set by the FOIA. However, I am more than happy to transfer this part of your request to Cleveland Police’s FOI team to advise further.
