Section 55 of the 1996 Police Act requires the Police & Crime Commissioner to prepare comments on any published Her Majesty's Inspectors of Constabulary (HMIC) reports that relate to their Force, including whether (and if so in what way) the PCC will take action in respect of any recommendations the report makes; conversely, where the PCC doesn’t intend to take such action, the response must explain why that is the case. The law requires the PCC to forward these responses to HMICFRS and the Home Office and then publish in the manner they see fit - which for Cleveland, will be on this page.
HMICFRS has a dedicated webpage containing an archive of Cleveland Police inspections. Click here to view the Cleveland Police page on the HMIC site
The list below list the Cleveland PCC's response to HMICFRS national inspections or that of Cleveland Police.
