Before 22 November 2012, governance of policing in Cleveland was undertaken by Cleveland Police Authority.
Cleveland Police Authority was an independent body set up as a result of the Magistrates Court Act 1994.
The Police Authority had seventeen members, nine appointed by the four local councils, eight from the local community, of which one was a Lay Justice.
CPA Legacy Report
At the final meeting of the Police Authority Executive, the CPA Members agreed a Legacy Report which outlined the outcomes, deliverables and key milestones accomplished whilst the Police Authority was in existence.
