On 25th May 2018, the UK introduced its new data protection legislation, on the same day the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force.
These rules set the standard for how organisations should be use, hold and share your personal information and will strengthen data protection for all individuals within the European Union.
Under the new data protection laws, we require your explicit consent to use, store and share your personal data. The form below will ask for basic contact details, as well as your explicit consent for us to use your personal information to assist you with your complaint.
How information about you will be used
In order to investigate your complaint, we will need to share your personal information with Cleveland Police. We will only use your personal information for the purpose for which it is collected, which is to properly investigate your complaint against Cleveland Police.
Your personal information will be stored on secure computer systems and accessed by the Complaints Triage Team and staff in Cleveland Police's Directorate of Standards and Ethics. If we need to share your personal information with any other organisations, we will contact you and ask for your consent.
