Hate Crime Awareness Week - Events To Be Attended By the PCC

National Hate Crime Week 2015

The Police & Crime Commissioner for Cleveland, Barry Coppinger, launched his support and involvement in Hate Crime Awareness Week 2015 at a launch event held at Darlington Town Hall on Friday 9 October, and will be attending a number of awareness raising events throughout the week.

Each day, the Cleveland PCC will be attending thematic events and spreading awareness of different strands of hate crime:

  • Monday 12 October  - Disability Hate Crime
  • Tuesday 13 October - Religious Hate Crime
  • Wednesday 14 October - Homophobic Hate Crime
  • Thursday 15 October - Racist Hate Crime
  • Friday 16 October - Transphobic Hate Crime

Monday 12 October 

  • Third Party Reporting Centre awareness and student safety, Teesside University Student Union, 1st Floor, 11:00 – 12:30 (All strands)
  • Stand up Against Hate Crime, LGB&T the Fed event, Hart Gables Middlesbrough Office & Poster, 16:00 – 19:00 (Sexual Orientation)   


Tuesday 13 October 


Wednesday 14 October 

  • Show Racism the Red Card, Oaktree Primary School, Stockton, 14:45 (Race)


Thursday 15 October 

  • Cuppa with a Coppa, Gypsy and Traveller Engagement, Yarm Fair, Time TBA (Race) - Cancelled due to nnforeseen circumstances
