Did you miss Neighbourhood Policing Week?

Between 22nd Jan-26th Jan we shone a light Neighbourhood Policing and the value of this approach to tackling crime. Neighbourhood Policing allows officers and PCSOs to get to know their areas in-depth as well as its key characters, locations and vehicles involved in criminality or antisocial behaviour.

A fantastic year of results for Project ADDER

In the past 12 months, Cleveland Police's project ADDER has taken a giant leap in tackling criminal gangs and drug-related crime in Middlesbrough: 552 Arrests, 76 Organized Crime Groups Disrupted, 451 Weapons Seized, 1,613 Drug Seizures, including crack and heroin.

Rubies urges girls to stay safe online

Rubies is on a mission to support young girls boost self-esteem, build resilience and stay safe across Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland. Rubies received a £5000 grant from Steve Turner Cleveland PCC to create "Ruby's Story," a powerful film aimed at girls aged 9-12. This resource is designed to increase awareness and inspire proactive choices.🎬

10 principles of crime prevention

 

The top tip for this month is the fifth of ten principles of Crime Prevention:

 

Access Control is an important part of any security scheme. It restricts access, for example, to a building. Access control can be as simple as the humble key to your front door, or can be as complex as a multi-card electronic system installed on multiple doors in a building or buildings. 1/3 of break ins are through insecure doors and windows so use access control to good effect and keep those doors and windows secured.

Volunteer with Tees River Rescue

Tees River Rescue is an independent rescue charity based on the River Tees. As well as providing search and rescue, TRR patrols the River at peak times throughout the year and provides education, support and reassurance for river users up and down the 26.7 miles of navigable river.
