FOI 149 – Serial Stalkers and Domestic Abuse Offenders

The OPCC are asked to provide information about serial stalkers and domestic abuse offenders.

FOI Request

Please provide this information for serial domestic violence offenders AND serial stalkers.

Serial perpetrators are defined as those responsible for domestic violence involving 2 or more victims.

  1. Does your police service flag and tag serial domestic violence/abuse offenders?
  2. If so, how many serial DV perpetrators were flagged by your force between 2015-2016? 
  3. Does your police service proactively problem solve and target serial domestic violence perpetrators?
  4. If so, how many were arrested and charged with an offence between 2015-2016?

Please provide the information in the form attached for both serial domestic abusers and serial stalkers.

If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under your Section 16 obligations, as to how I can refine my request to be included in the scope of the Act.

In any case, if you can identify ways that my request could be refined please provide further advice and assistance to indicate this.

I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as stipulated by the Act.

Regarding your request I can now inform you that I have completed my enquiries and that my reply on behalf of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland is as follows.

I can confirm that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland does not hold this information.

s16 of the FOIA requires me to try and assist you in seeking the information you have asked for.  In that vein I understand that this information may be held by Cleveland Police.  As such I have transferred your request to them on your behalf, and they will respond accordingly.
