FOI 234 – Emails between PCC and CEO

The OPCC is asked to provide information about emails between the PCC and the Chief Executive Officer.

I am requesting copies of all emails between PCC Barry Coppinger and Chief Executive Simon Dennis between August 1st 2019 and September 1st 2019.

FOI Response

I can confirm that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland does hold this information.

I attach a PDF bundle containing all emails between PCC Barry Coppinger and Mr Simon Dennis within the period of 1st August and 1stSeptember 2019 inclusive, subject to redactions. The emails provided are direct correspondence between the two parties in which they feature on the ‘to:’ line of the message.

The majority of redactions are instances of personal data and therefore exempt under Section 40(2) and 40(3a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Section 40(2) provides protections for 3rd party data and 40(3a) prevents disclosure where it would lead to a breach of the principles of the Data Protection Act 2018.

One email is redacted in its entirety. As the content of this correspondence relates to an on-going investigation, Sections 31 2(a) and/or 31 2(b) and/or 31 2(c) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 apply. 

The information is therefore exempt under Section 31 1(g) and has been redacted.
