Safeguarding partners in South Tees have expressed an interest in forming a South Tees Children’s Hub.
This follows the successful introduction of the Stockton & Hartlepool Children’s Hub on 1st June 2016,
South Tees safeguarding partners have started discussions about a multi-agency Children’s Hub.
There is now a clear desire to proceed with a drive to create the hub by 1 April 2017.
The Project Initiation document sets out most of the information about the proposal. In addition, the financial costs of running of the Children’s Hub are expected to be about £1.3m per annum with a further £170k needed for one-off set-up costs.
The proposal pulls together workalready bei ng funded by the PCC, such as Operation Encompass. It aims to build on this with other agencies.
The expected costs for the PCC/Police contribution are:
- Set up costs of £11k
- Ongoing revenue costs of about £133k per annum.
The PCC is also funding some of the resources that will move into the Hub, such as the Encompass worker.
Therefore, it is expected that only £60k of additional funds are required over and above those already included in the financial plans.
