The code of corporate governance continues to set out how the police and crime commissioner and chief constable will govern their organisations both jointly and separately.
The code uses the six good governance core principles as the structure for local arrangements.
It provides a framework which ensures that business is carried out efficiently and decisions are not unnecessarily delayed.
The code also makes sure that delegations and consents by the PCC to senior officers in both the Office of the PCC and the Police Force are clearly stated.
It has been updated to reflect Stage two transfers. It has been subject to review by the Audit Committee. The Audit Committee has recommended the code for adoption.
