This project focusses on the Newport ward of Middlesbrough.
House burglaries are the biggest problem in this area, with 16 occurring in May 2015.
Relevant crime prevention items will be bought. Items will be easy for residents to fit. Officers will hand them out t when they are visiting people in their homes to offer advice and guidance.
Items will be targeted at victims of burglary and also the most vulnerable residents. This may be due to age, disability, disrepair of the property or other vulnerabilities.
This initiative supports the PCC’s priorities of ensuring a better deal for victims and witnesses and diverting people from offending, with a focus on rehabilitation and the prevention of re-offending.
