Specialist support for victims of Honour Based Violence / Forced Marriage and Female Genital Mutilation has been commissioned by the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) since 1 May 2017.
Delivered by the Halo Project, the latest performance information shows that between 1 April 2019 and 31 December 2019, 95 new victims have accessed the service for support with over 30 awareness raising and training sessions delivered both within the community and to professionals.
The current contractual arrangements with Halo comes to an end on 31 March 2020. It is proposed that this service be extended for a five month period from 1 April 2020 – 31 August 2020.
The rationale for this being:
1) To ensure continuity of service provision
2) To allow contract alignment with local authority colleagues, enabling co-commissioning opportunities to be progressed.
