Executive Summary
The PCC has funding available through the Police Property Act Fund to support charitable organisations in support of crime and community safety initiatives. Charities were invited to apply under the ‘Spring Activities Fund’ Campaign during late December 2023 / early January 2024. The
Spring Activities Fund invited charitable organisations to run projects or events during antisocial behaviour flashpoints this Spring (during the February half term and Easter school holiday periods). Organisations were able to apply for funding to cover activity in one or both of the specified school holiday periods. The one-off grant was required to support one of the below points:
- Reducing anti-social behaviour
- Diverting people away from anti-social behaviour
- Encouraging positive solutions that overcome the issues that communities face as a result of anti-social behaviour
- Building resilience in communities to respond to anti-social behaviour
- Support early intervention approaches to anti-social behaviour
An application review meeting was held on 15 January 2024 to consider all applications received. This was attended by the Police and Crime Commissioner, Temporary Head of Policy, Partnerships and Delivery and Policy, Partnerships and Delivery Officer.
On 5th February 2024 the OPCC were contacted by People’s Meeples to enquire regarding the result of their application. Due to an ICT error which is being investigated the application form, although sent within the funding timescales to the correct email address, was not received by the OPCC.
Due to the fact that the fault did not lie with the applying organisation and the application was originally submitted within the funding timescales, the Police and Crime Commissioner agreed to consider the application late. The Police and Crime Commissioner subsequently agreed to fund the application as per below.
