This decision relates to funding received from the Home Office to deliver Hotspot Patrols in the top 19 hotspot areas which are high for antisocial behaviour.
This contributes to the Police and Crime priority to reduce crime, antisocial behaviour and harm by reducing the number of antisocial behaviour incidents in the hotspots through the deterrence effect of uniformed patrols in the hotspots.

From the Home Office Funding to run uniformed patrols in ASB Hotspot areas, we have an anticipated underspend, primarily due to delays in recruiting staff and staff attrition.
Middlesbrough Council have reported an overspend against their grant agreement of: £1,862.45 due to increases in staff costs over the year.
We propose that some of the underspend against hotspot patrols be used to cover the overspend in Middlesbrough.
This will enable us to make best use of the government funding provided and ensure that the funding covers the total cost of employing the local authority wardens for the financial year 24/25.
