Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner has agreed to award a new custody service contract worth £5.46m over three years.
The appointment follows a full procurement process and consideration by the PCC following recommendations made by the Evaluation Team.
In June 2017, the Custody Support Contract and Medical Services were tendered separately for the first time.
Following a Competitive Tender Exercise, a contract was awarded to Mitie Care and Custody for a period of three years with an option to extend for two years.
The current contract will reach its maximum five-year term at the end of June 2022.
