NHS England has confirmed it can offer an additional six months of funding for a sexual harms co-ordinator.
Funding will be awarded to extend the role, which is based at Middlesbrough Voluntary Development Agency (MVDA.)
Extra funding from NHS England Sexual Assault and Abuse Strategy 2025-26 will take the role to 30 September 2026.
The additional grant of £30,918 will increase the total funding awarded to £90,822.40 for the delivery period 1 April 2025 – 30 September 2026.
The OPCC will retain a management charge of £4,541.18 for the 18-month period to support OPCC management of the arrangement.
The role will develop, facilitate and co-ordinate activities to support improvements across all partners responding to sexual harms. The new role will also aim to improve victim experience and confidence.
