The main aims of Tees River Rescue (TRR) are:
- The preservation and protection of life in and around the River Tees by deploying a river rescue craft with a fully trained crew at the request of emergency services and partner agencies.
- To provide a rescue safety boat on the river Tees that is able to patrol and respond to calls to service 24 hours a day 365 days of the year from emergency services and other partner agencies.
- Carry out routine river patrols to reduce antisocial behaviour, support with river bye-law compliance and challenge inappropriate behaviour on the river
- The advancement of education among the public in water safety
Tees River Rescue intends to deploy an independent, inland patrol, search and rescue boat on the river Tees. The charity will provide routine public safety patrols along the 18-mile stretch of river. The boat is not designed to replace existing provision, but provide a complimentary service.
The funding provided will support the purchase of personal protective equipment for a crew of 6 and rescue safety equipment.
