The Victim Care and Advice Service (VCAS) supports victims of crime who are particularly vulnerable and need help to cope and recover
They include those that have been repeat victims and those who are intimidated.
VCAS has requested funding to prepare a short film on Restorative Justice, which brings victims and offenders together to discuss their account of the same incident.
Restorative Justice aims to put the victims back in control and present the offenders with the consequences of their actions.
Restorative Justice particularly helps victims, who have been emotionally effected by the crime and have struggled to move on.
The DVD will include interviews with three victims, who have been through the process. Their accounts will be used to promote Restorative Justice and to help give victims the confidence take their interest further.
