In March 2025, the Serious Violence Duty Grant (25/26) was published.
It provided direction and guidance for partners to bid for funding.
On behalf of the specified authorities, the PCC submitted a funding application to the Home Office. This was to secure Serious Violence (SV) Duty Grant funding of £95,675.29.
Now the grant application has been approved, the SV Duty Grant will continue to support CURV and specified authorities to deliver a range of activity. Activities include:
- Supporting the management and maintenance of the Serious Violence Duty Dashboard. This will be managed by one of the statutory partners.
- Supporting research and analysis associated with setting up Young Futures Prevention Panels. They aim to help reduce violence through a greater preventative approach.
- Continued support for interventions, which support the reduction of serious violence in public spaces. This aligns non-labour cost funds to the delivery of the Town Centre Violence Reduction Action Plan.
The activities, above, directly align with the following Police and Crime Plan priorities
- Reduce crime, antisocial behaviour and harm
- Improve safety for women and girls
- Ensure the right support for victims and vulnerable poeple
The budget will be allocated as follows:
- Labour costs: £77,041.71. Funding to support the delivery of key responsibilities in data management, data sharing, and research & analysis.
- Non-Labour Costs: £18,633.58. Delivery of initiatives to reduce violence in public spaces through the Town Safety Violence Reduction Action Plan
