FOI Request
I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from your police force.
I would like to know the following information
- (a) How much will it cost your force to deliver the above 1% pay rise as agreed earlier this year?
- (b) How does the force intend on funding this pay increase?
- (c) Do you foresee having to make savings elsewhere in order to afford this pay increase? And if so, where will you make savings?
Please provide the information in an email back to this address.
If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under your Section 16 obligations, as to how I can refine my request to be included in the scope of the Act.
In any case, if you can identify ways that my request could be refined please provide further advice and assistance to indicate this.
I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as stipulated by the Act.
FOI Response
In respect of questions (a) and (b) I am refusing your request under s21 of the FOI Act. Where-by information can be considered to be reasonably accessible to you by other means.
The purpose of the section 21 exemption is to ensure that there is no right of access to information via FOIA if it is available to the applicant by another route.
Section 21 is an absolute exemption which means there is no requirement to carry out a public interest test if the requested information is exempt.
For question (c) there is no recorded information held.
