- During the period January 2018 – December 2018 there were 5,986 custody medical interventions on detainees within custody, and 167 cases attended at the SARC by SOE’s (Sexual Offence Examiners) (Total of 5,986 cases for Mitie Care & Custody (Health) Limited)

Quarter 1
The table below demonstrates that there was a requirement for SARC-support staff to open up the SARC within 1 hour on 34 occasions. Due to the stage of the transition and the lack of ‘Out of Hours’ resources during Q1 there were not any out of hours referrals in the Northumbria area.
On the occasions where there was a requirement to open the SARC within an hour this was achieved on 29 occasions (85%).

13.Mitie Care and Custody are responsible under the contract for 100% rota cover at all times. While this is not an official measure it is an essential requirement that all staff rotas operate at 100%. For example, if a member of staff cannot attend work due to ill health, Mitie have a requirement to fill their place with bank staff at their own cost to ensure the rota is never short.

18. The SARC does not provide services to children, this service is managed by the RVI Newcastle as part of a contract managed by NHS England.
