Freedom of Information request
- Since 01/02/23, please can you tell me all the meetings Steve Turner, as PCC for Cleveland, attended in a professional capacity? For each occasion, can you please tell me the name of the person Mr Turner met, the date of the meeting (in format DD/MM/YYYY), the name of the organisation or individual being met with, the format over which the meeting was held (i.e. zoom, hotel, restaurant, cafe, Microsoft teams etc) and a brief description of the purpose of the meeting.
- By “meeting”, I am referring to scheduled or spontaneous discussions/meetings/conferences etc which were with people outside of his office. For example, these could be meetings with police officers, local councillors etc.
- Please send me Mr Turner’s official work diary notes/entries – presumably taken by an assistant in the PCC office – for the time period between 01/02/23 and 18/05/23.
Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner response
Attached with this letter is an Excel spreadsheet containing a list of 177 meetings the PCC attended between 1st January 2023 and 18th May 2023.
Information included:
- Name of the meeting
- Location of the meeting
- Date of the meeting
- Organisations who attended the meeting
- Brief description of the meeting
- All meetings have at least one external attendee from “outside of his office” (there are OPCC colleagues in attendance at a lot of these meetings, but it seemed from your request that your primary interest was in external attendees).
As explained in s40 of the Freedom of Information Act, the publication of third-party personal data without the consent of all parties would contravene the principles of the Data Protection Act 2018 and is therefore all relevant information is redacted.
As such, I have not provided the names of any individuals who met with the PCC and if their name was included in the meeting title, it has been amended to reflect their role/organisation.
For example, ‘Meeting with Miss Smith’ has become ‘Meeting with local resident’.
The purpose of a Freedom of Information request is to provide recorded information held by the OPCC on a specific topic. As such, we are unable to provide information of spontaneous meetings the PCC may have had with people whilst travelling around the county or meeting people in passing at Cleveland Police HQ, as there are no records of such meetings.
