FOI Request
Can you please tell me the total spent on branded PCC merchandise by the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner since November 2012?
Could you furthermore tell me how many branded items have been purchased, the type of items purchased and the amount spent per year?
FOI Response
On further clarification, we came to an agreed definition for ‘branded items’ as items printed with an OPCC logo for the purpose of distribution to members of the public.
I can confirm that the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Cleveland does hold this information.
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner attend many community engagements events during the year as part of the Commissioner’s Your Force Your Voice programme. At these events, his team distribute crime prevention leaflets and equipment to members of the public. Our standard equipment list includes purse bells, property marking kits and carabiners, although none of these items are branded with OPCC logos.
Please see below a year-on-year breakdown of costs for OPCC-branded merchandise:
- 2012-2013: £0
- 2013-2014: £0
- 2014-2015: £0
- 2015-2016: £0
- 2016-2017: £0
- 2017-2018: £0
- 2018-2019: 2000 x PCC-branded credit/debit card protectors to prevent contactless fraud – £860. (Additional protectors were ordered in 2019-20, but they were not branded.)
- 2019-2020:£0
The OPCC logo has also been used alongside Cleveland Police’s logo on ‘no cold caller stickers’ and on stickers for children who attend crime prevention events. These items are printed by Cleveland Police’s in-house printing team and incur no additional cost.
