An exceptional individual is being recruited to join the independent committee tasked with shining a light on the management of key areas of policing, including police dogs, firearms, neighbourhood policing and major crime.
Cleveland Joint Independent Audit Committee looks at all aspects of policing in Cleveland and advises the Acting Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable about governance, financial management and risk.
This could be anything from assessing Taser use across the force to ensuring key financial controls and processes are in place.
The group of five meets at least four times a year, and the PCC and Chief have a vacancy for one member to join the committee for an initial term of up to four years.
In line with guidance established in 2012, the successful candidate with receive an annual allowance of £1,500, with an expectation that approximately eight days a year will spent undertaking the role.

“The Audit Committee plays a key role in enhancing public trust and confidence and assisting the Commissioner to hold Cleveland Police to account.
“The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of corporate governance issues and will have a passion for providing an excellent service to the people of Cleveland.”
