Charities across Cleveland could benefit from extra funding thanks to Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Matt Storey.
Matt has just launched the Autumn Activity Fund. It will help to fund positive activities for young people during October’s half-term holidays and into November.
The fund aims to provide young people with a range of activities at a time of year when the colder weather and shorter days mean outdoor play isn’t the cheap and easy answer to finding something to do any more.
By engaging with younger members of the community, Matt hopes to help combat antisocial behaviour (ASB) and focus young people’s minds on positive pastimes.
Cleveland PCC Matt Storey said: “This autumn, I’m hoping for a bumper crop of applications from charities delivering a range of activities across Cleveland.
“They could be anything from sports and arts and crafts sessions to one-off events.
“Previously, PCC funding has supported everything from trampolining sessions to gardening clubs. The only real limit is the imagination of the charities who apply.”
To apply for up to £500 in funding, applicants must be a registered charity. Grants will be funded from the Police Property Act Fund.
Successful applicants must be prepared to give the OPCC a progress report, outlining how they have spent their grant and the number of young people who have been reached through the funding.
Deadline for applications: 23.55 on Friday 11 October 2024
