The aim of this policy is to clearly set out the anti-fraud and corruption procedure operated by the local policing body for the Cleveland Police area.
The anti-fraud and corruption policy is designed to encourage prevention, promote detection and identify a clear pathway for investigation of fraudulent and/or corrupt activities or behaviour.
Local Policing Body is a term introduced by the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011. From November 2012, the local policing body is the directly-elected Police and Crime Commissioner.
This procedure was adopted by the Cleveland Police Authority. When staff from the Police Authority transferred to the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, the procedure continued to apply unless and until amended by the Police and Crime Commissioner following consultation with staff.
