The Transport Safety Consultation Survey heard from almost 1,000 people about their experiences, with many experiencing or witnessing anti-social behaviour, assault and harassment on buses, trains and at stations.
Passengers are calling for:
- More staff to keep people safe
- More CCTV and body-worn cameras
- Tougher action on ASB
- Clearer info on taxis and how to report issues
The feedback will help shape a new Town Centre Violence Reduction Action Plan, aimed at safer, more welcoming public transport and town centres across Hartlepool, Stockton, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland.
