Executive Summary:
In 2013-14, Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner will receive £1.698m from the Home Office.
That money would have formerly been given to Crime and Disorder Partnerships (CSPs)
The four CSPs in Cleveland have undertaken a needs assessment alongside district police officers in their areas.
This is because the CSP in each borough is best placed to recognise what is needed to address crime and disorder effectively in their area.
Each CSP was asked to submit proposals for funding against the five priorities in the PCC’s 2013-17 plan. The total requested by CSPs was £680,953.
Previously, Youth Offending Services were supported by the Community Safety Fund. It is now proposed that £250,000 is allocated to the services.
A further £828,034 is needed to maintain the Arrest Referral scheme. The PCC will provide £694,000 towards this.
This leaves £63,047 of the total sum uncommitted. This can be used by the PCC on Cleveland-wide programmes to support the PCC’s priorities.
