Executive Summary:
At the Audit Committee held on the 27th June 2013, the second draft of the Annual Governance statement was reviewed.
It was scrutinised by the independent Members of the Committee who were asked to provide comments and amendments as required.
A meeting subsequently took place with the PCC so that the Chair and Vice Chair
had the opportunity to bring to the attention of the PCC any issues in relation to Governance that may have come to the attention of the Committee during their work.
Publication and approval of the Annual Governance Statement is a mandatory requirement.
Failure to achieve this would undermine the PCC’s progress in promoting corporate governance and driving up performance.
