There are a number of instances throughout the year where additional work is incurred by the Force, for which income is received.
To ensure that this does not have a detrimental impact on the services provided by Cleveland Police, the budget available to the Chief Constable is increased to reflect this additional work.
Foreign Nationals
Cleveland Police has a legal duty to provide foreign nationals with a certificate of confirmation of registration.
This is a national, legal document. The certified person relies on it to prove his/her right to iive in the UK.
The PCC receives income from this work. Therefore, the request is for £1,206 to be provided from this income to pay for certificates.
Security Managers Course
The course is designed for business people to be made aware any threats to business. The course also hghlights any steps business people can take to reduce risk and therefore reduce the dependence on Cleveland Police resources.
Additional costs from delivering this course were £1,590.90. The income generated was £3,250. The request is therefore that the funds available to the Chief Constable are increased by £1,590.90
Secondments
During the year, a number of additional secondments have been approved to aid individual development and support national work.
Some of these secondments require either backfilling or acting up arrangements. One such secondment is expected to result in the receipt of £142k of income by the PCC.
The force has requested that these funds are made available so they can carry out back fill and cover arrangements.
