Since 2021, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has provided funding for support services for victims of domestic abuse (DA), sexual violence (SV), sexual exploitation (SE) and stalking, collectively referred to as Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) services, outlined within the following
Decision Records (DRF’s):
DRF 2022-0020 MoJ Multi-Year Funding for DA Services (2022-2025) — Consolidation of Grants
DRF 2022-0004 MoJ SV/DA Support Services Fund (April 2022 – March 2025)
DRF 2023/24-0003 Recruitment of Specialist Stalking Advocates 2021-0007018 MoJ ISVA/IDVA Fund (April 2021- March 2023)
The following Service Providers are currently in receipt of funding to deliver support to victims:
All grants and contracts for DA, SV, SE and Stalking victims support come to an end on 31st March 2025.
Commissioning activity to assess needs and review impact of current provision has started.
However, procurement activity and decisions on commissioning intention cannot commence until confirmation of MOJ funding for 2025-26.
PCCs have been advised that MoJ funding allocations will be confirmed in December 2024. Following discussion with the PCC and Chief Finance Officer on 16 October 2024 it was agreed, in the interests of continuity for victims and services, and to minimise disruption, the current grant and contractual arrangements across all VAWG victim services due to end 31 March 2025 be extended by three months from, 1St April 2025 to 30th June 2025.
This extension to existing arrangements will allow appropriate time for procurement activity to commence.
This will follow announcement of the confirmed allocation of victims funding for 2025-26.
In turn, this will ensure that current VAWG victim services can appropriately exit existing arrangements if necessary and, providing seamless continuity for victims accessing provision from 1st July 2025.
