MaSters Training Centre in Thornaby aims to help and support the community in the surrounding areas.
Its aim is to engage young people in activities and outdoor pursuits – particularly those, who have been in trouble and may be at risk of offending.
The Centre has applied to the PCC’s Community Safety Initiative Fund to buy arts and crafts materials, sports equipment and hire a sports hall for a project, which it is running.
All youngsters in the project will work towards a NCFE Qualification. NCFE’s V Certs are equivalent to BTEC or higher grade GCSEs.
This application supports the PCC’s priority of diverting people from offending, with a focus on rehabilitation and the preventing re-offending.
