The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) receives two grant agreements from the Ministry of Justice to commission services to support victims of crime.
The funding must be used to commission and support localised services that help victims of crime to cope and recover from the impact of the harm they have experienced.
Alongside funding received from the MoJ, the PCC allocates additional funding to victim support services through the Community Safety Fund, (which comes from the Home Office Policing Grant). This fund also supports broader community safety and criminal justice activities.
The attached report at Annex 1 sets out the current commissioned victim services provision as previously agreed by the PCC along with recommendations for future funding arrangements up to March 2028.
At a meeting on 13 July 2026 involving the PCC, Chief Finance Officer and Head of Policy, Partnerships and Delivery, the PCC agreed the recommendations as set out in the report.
Recommendations relate to specialist support services for victims of VAWG as well as overall victim support and restorative justice
