Cleveland Special Branch (SB) needs to upgrade the physical security of its offices.
This is to comply with the latest security requirements for STRAP accreditation.
The premises were inspected last year for STRAP accreditation.
Standards have changed in the decade since the previous inspection. Several aspects of the premises’ physical security are now not up to standard.
To maintain STRAP accreditation, the force must comply with the new standards.
Improvements are compulsory and non-negotiable. They are centrally-funded by ACPO (TAM.)
The PCC is requested to accept the ACPO TAM grant and agree an increase of £36,800 for the force’s revenue budget from funding to be received.
This funding will allow the force to carry out the necessary improvements to Sites 178 and 25 of Cleveland SB’s estate.
