The Police Property Act Fund is created from the proceeds of crime or sale of goods recovered by police, which cannot to be returned.
In line with the Police Property Act Regulations (1997,) all awards made from this fund must be for charitable purposes.
It is recommended that the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) establishes n process for receiving, considering and managing Police Property Act Fund requests. This process should be open and transparent.
It is proposed that an application process to the fund is set up. This will enable the PCC to promote the fund more widely via the website and Your Force Your Voice meetings.
Applications will be judged against their ability to fulfill the PCC’s police and crime objectives.
The application process and accompanying form will be uploaded to the PCC’s website.
