The PCC’s Community Safety Initiatives fund has provided £4,599.59-worth of funding for work to restrict access to Eston Hills.
The cash will enable Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council engineers to complete work to restrict access at four points to Eston Hills,
The work will restrict access to the area by 4×4 and quad vehicles. It will also reduce anti-social behaviour and criminal damage associated with the vehicles.
The work is being undertaken as part of a multi-agency planning group, led by the PCC and involving Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council, Cleveland Fire Brigade, National Farmers Union and Teesside University.
This funding, together with funding obtained from Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council and Teesside University and materials donated by TATA Steel, will cover the cost of all the engineering work at the four sites.
