Stockton Crime Prevention Panel has set up the Safe At Home Scheme.
As part of the scheme, qualified crime prevention officers visit victims. They install security measures to make people’s homes more secure.
In return, this allows victims to remain in their own homes and feel safe.
The Panel has applied for funding to buy equipment such as security lighting, security hardware and CCTV devices.
It also wants to improve door security on highlighted, vulnerable properties to prevent them from becoming repeat victims.
The PCC has approved £5,000-worth of spending to support the Safe at Home scheme.
