The Sea Cadets aim is to inspire 10-18 year olds to develop self -confidence, team building and valuable life skills.
There is a programme of skills, training and education that allows the young people to acquire qualifications and accreditations that will help them into future employment.
The programme is run entirely by volunteers which means that activities are provided at an affordable cost to young people.
Stockton Sea Cadets have been running since 1942. They have requested PCC funding to send four cadets on a week-long training session on a sailing ship.
The funding will give cadets from disadvantaged backgrounds the chance to go on the trip. Their families may not otherwise be able to afford to send them.
