In Cleveland, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is responsible for leading and co-ordinating the local response to serious violence through the establishment of a Violence Reduction Unit (VRU).
Funded by the Home Office, Cleveland’s Unit for the Reduction of Violence (CURV) is responsible for delivering a ‘whole system’, public health approach to tackling violence, bringing together key partners to identify the local drivers and root-causes of serious violence and agree and implement a multi-agency response to them.
The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) with support from the CURV partnership has made available £500,000 which is open to community groups, social enterprises, public sector bodies and non-profit organisations working in or across Cleveland who provide support to people affected by, at risk of or involved in serious violence.
