Recognition for our commitment to transparency
In October 2015, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Cleveland was one of the first OPCCs to receive national recognition for its transparency.
The CoPaCC Transparency Quality Mark was awarded by its Chief Executive Bernard Rix to nine OPCCs from around the country. CoPacc is the independent organisation, which monitors police governance.
Since 2015, Cleveland OPCC has retained the Quality Mark for six years in total. in 2020-21, it was “highly commended” for its information.

- Effective procurement, based on a principle of Value for Money, supports the Police and Crime Commissioner in achieving this vision and meeting the Commissioner’s corporate objectives. The Commissioner strives to ensure that all activities are undertaken with honesty, equality and integrity. All contracts undertaken by the Police and Crime Commissioner are subject to rigorous checking of value for money principles.
